Reviews

“ Easy to use and very helpful during COVID-19 Pandemic. ”

9/10 (overall) - Parrish M
Pros
  • I like how easy WordPress was to learn. When I started at Maginnis Law I had to learn how to use it from scratch. This was easy to do.
  • We are trying to decide when to upgrade to WordPress pro and I believe we will do that within the next few months. Also, having the ability to see statistics on your website has been nice.
Cons
  • Nothing really.
  • Everything is very easy to use and the side bars provide you with all the tools needed to edit, post and check your insights as well.

“ Best for starters, but not easy to scale for high traffic. ”

8/10 (overall) - Wasim S
Pros
  • If you are just starting up with your online presence and looking for free CMS with almost all features you are looking for.
  • It’s easy to create simple business websites, portfolios, blogs. If you want to go in advance, you can create anything like a Job Board, Directory, even an eCommerce website with the help of third-party tools.
Cons
  • The biggest disadvantage of WordPress is its security because the plugins and themes you will be using are developed by different people and companies.
  • If you are planning to move to other CMS it might be very hard to transfer without the help of IT person.

“ Adaptable platform for blogging and forums ”

8/10 (overall) - Philip H
Pros
  • I have been running WordPress on my own server since October 2015, which means I have complete control over the functionality and the frequency of maintenance.
  • WordPress allows segmentation of access, so the site is split into a blog, 3 forums, and a job board, all focussed on my core business of SAS program development.
Cons
  • I use a Bitnami WordPress stack to install WordPress on my Ubuntu server. This keeps all of the vital software components compatible with each other, but has to be installed as a single package, which can be somewhat time-consuming.
  • Many WordPress plug-ins are community supported, which can mean they are well maintained, but also can result in plug-ins not being maintained at all.
