“ Conferencing solution ”

8/10 (overall) - Aleks S
Pros
  • The experience with zoom is wonderful, it is a very useful software that makes your life easier, especially if you are in the education or training business.
  • Zoom is pretty exceptional in that you can meet with a whole team all at once and not have to be physically present. The idea is fantastic, and I can see its benefit when meeting with teams.
Cons
  • Zoom Video Webinar has made our weekly cross state-cross-organizational meetings a breeze and one less technology we have to worry about glitching or not working well.
  • Sometimes it is not working, and the customer is not able to sign in. I think this is mostly user error.

“ Ability to see the person ”

9/10 (overall) - Brad W
Pros
  • I love how I can do a video call with people in multiple states and the video is clear and crisp. The sound works great and the screen share tool works great as well.
  • We have had only great experiences with using Zoom for meetings and chats in our organization – no dropped calls, clear connections, great video and wonderful ease-of-use.
Cons
  • Recently I read that Zoom had a security vulnerability, I’m worried about that and about the info hackers could get from my computer.
  • Not having to worry about hosting twenty people and losing my connection. It’s embarrassing when you put out the clients who took their time to meet with you.

“ It's like being right across the table ”

9.5/10 (overall) - Earl S
Pros
  • We chose this specifically because of it’s ease to have a meeting attendee (not the organizer) share their screen. We do software walkthroughs, and zoom is the least painful screen sharing software we found.
  • I have used all of the video conferencing options on the Market and Zoom is the easiest to use while providing a consistent and stable experience for all.
Cons
  • There are some clunky things about it. Particularly if you are doing a meeting on the fly. Inviting from a meeting you just started is a bit of a chore, and it always defaults to try to read through your address book, which feels arbitrary.
  • The only feature that I see lacking in Zoom is the same tight integration with the Microsoft Stack that Teams has. With that said, it still integrates nicely with Outlook so it’s easy to schedule meetings.

Q & A

Q. How much does the Zoom software cost?

Zoom is one of the most well-known web conferencing software that offers its platform for free. However, considering that there are limitations to it, people opt to subscribe to a paid plan. Zoom offers three (3) plans for customers. These are the Pro plan ($14.99/host/month), the Business plan ($19.99/host/month with a minimum of 10 hosts), and the Enterprise plan ($19.99/host/month with a minimum of 100 hosts).

Q. Does Zoom offer additional plans that caters to specific needs of users?

Aside from the three (3) subscription based plans mentioned earlier, Zoom does offer four (4) more price plans for various needs, such as phone functionality, rooms, and webinars. These are the Zoom Phone ($10/user/month), Zoom Rooms ($49/room/month), H.323 Room Connector ($49/port/month), and the Video Webinar ($40/host/month with a maximum of 100 participants).

Q. Does Zoom offer a free trial period?

An app that offers a free trial is certainly better. However, with Zoom, its platform does not offer a trial. It does offer a free plan, though. That means you can already use the software for free with multiple benefits already. Some of the free plan’s features include unlimited number of meetings, host up to 100 participants, ticket support, and a 40min. time limit on an online meeting with three or more people.

Q. Are there any add-ons that Zoom offers?

Yes, Zoom provides two (2) add-ons to increase functionality. These are: Audio Plan ($100/month) and Additional Cloud Recording Storage ($40/GB/month).
