“ OpenVPN keeps me protected when I surf the internet ”
- OpenVPN for me, is one of the most secure VPN protocols I have used.
- It keeps me in a private internet connection and without fear of hackers. It is excellent because the platform has a list of what users can do to secure the connection after having configured OpenVPN on the devices.
- Some disadvantages that OpenVPN has is that the configuration must be done manually and for many it can be quite difficult.
- Also, as encryption is very secure, sometimes I experience drops in connection speeds and that is certainly unpleasant.
“ OpenVPN ”
- OpenVPN is a solution that I use in my office as well as at home. OpenVPN allows me to treat myself with my private VPN server from a device of my choice.
- Thanks to OpenVPN, I can safely use open hotspot networks and also use the safe Internet during my travels. An additional advantage is the fact that OpenVPN has a user-friendly web interface for managing the server.
- The only thing I don’t like is that the free license is only available for 2 devices.
- Connection weakness, it does not provide support.
“ OpenVPN allows easy, secure VPN connections to remote and cloud servers ”
- Very easy to configure and implement.
- Excellent security features, very easy to use and reliable.
- Managing multiple connection configurations can be a little bit cumbersome to get setup in the software.
- But once you complete the configuration, it becomes extremely simple to use just set it and forget it!

Q & A
OpenVPN is a world leading VPN software provider that aims to provide secure connections for businesses and organizations, even when they are connected to a public network. This award-winning application is used by all businesses, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, in order to make their communications and cloud data more secure. With OpenVPN, you can avoid any issues in terms of privacy, as all critical data is protected by this platform.
OpenVPN caters to businesses of all sizes, and their pricing systems reflect that. With that said, OpenVPN provides a Standard version and an Access Server version of their application. The standard version only provides two options: a Monthly subscription ($6/month for up to 3 connections) and a Yearly subscription ($36/year or $3/month). As for the Access Server version, OpenVPN also offers Monthly ($75/month or $7.50/connection) and Yearly subscription ($720/year or $6/connection).
OpenVPN is not an entirely free software to use, as we covered the cost of implementing it into your system. However, for the Access Server version, the app enables you to use its platform for free, provided that you will only have a maximum of two connections. If that is not enough for you, then you must pay for additional connections. Ten connections being their minimum for a paid subscription. If hesitant, its Standard version does come with a free 7-day trial period, which provides insight into OpenVPN’s functionality.
OpenVPN allows up to 2,000 connections simultaneously. This, however, is only for its Access Server version, since its Standard version only allows up to three connections. Should you need more than 2,000 connections, you would need to get in touch with the software’s sales team, so that they can discuss the cost of additional connections.
