“ Good for Quick/Standard Video Edits ”

8/10 (overall) - Eric G
  • The ease of use and accessibility. I have an iPhone and MacBook Pro so it’s nice to be able to use and freely share between the devices.
  • Also, it is very easy to use. You don’t need training in iMovie to be able to use it like a pro – there are plenty of templates that make it doable for anyone.
  • There are a lot of features iMovie doesn’t have that a more professional editing software does have.
  • It does not allow for a lot of flexibility and sophisticated editing techniques.

“ iMovie makes it easy to create engaging and professional videos ”

8/10 (overall) - Clayton V
  • iMovie is very intuitive and easy to use.
  • I am able to upload my clips to the project, rearrange, trim, crop, and overlay them quickly, creating a product that looks like I had hired someone to do it.
  • There are not many downsides to iMovie, however, I would like to be able to add text anywhere on the screen as opposed to the locations that the pre-made templates are set to.
  • This may be a more advanced feature in Final Cut Pro, which is also made by Apple.

“ iMovie was the genius behind my online course! ”

9/10 (overall) - Tara B
  • In iMovie, I love that I can add music, captions and transitions between parts of my video.
  • Editing is quite easy with trimming.
  • I didn’t like that I couldn’t go from y my iMovie app on my phone to transporting it to iMovie on my laptop.
  • I didn’t find an easy way to do that. Also, Some of the tools to save and share in iMovie are not so intuitive. They take a bit of searching to find.
