Reviews

“ Best software for quick video tutorials ”
4/5 (overall) - Emelie C
Pros:
  • Fast to use, pretty straightforward and the result is fantastically clear.
  • I got a copy of this for an unrelated project from my manager and realized how simple is to use to create short mini-tutorials
Cons:
  • Nothing really, I wish I knew about this software years ago.
  • If you import a separate video file (which usually isn’t necessary) and then later move that file, it’s no longer associated with the video.
“ Teaching with Camtasia ”
4/5 (overall) - Kelly J
Pros:
  • It was fast and easy to learn.
  • This is the only way to teach. I teach mulitmedia and I can teach and record the lesson at the same time then if a student misses class or needs to review they can go back and see the lesson, review the lesson over and over.
Cons:
  • The trade-off for making things easy is that you don’t have detailed, power-user-level controls to tweak everything like you would in Premier or Final Cut Pro X.
  • However, if your goal is creating great-looking. video, fast – then this isn’t a big deal.
“ Camtasia is the perfect Video Editing Tool ”
4.5/5 (overall) - Bruno C
Pros:
  • I’ve been using Camtasia for a couple of years, and I still like a lot how easy is to learn how to use the tool features. Once you know the basis of Video Editing, use or try all the features in Camtasia is very easy.
  • I’ve just upgraded from Camtasia 2019 to Camtasis 2020, and it was a very smooth process. I can use all the new features, without compromising all my previous work
Cons:
  • I think I want to have more effects to play around: I really like to have more audio effects and more video effects will be great in the tool.
  • I also don’t like the login process, opening an external webpage with a 2 steps login. An integrated user and password form in the tool is the best way IMHO.

Before you go and pay for a subscription to Camtasia, though, you first need to know about its shortcomings as a video editing platform. These include a slow responding customer support team, limited cross-compatibility with other versions of Camtasia, and its audio editing tool is rather complex.
