Q & A

What is Buffer used for?

The Buffer app is a simple yet robust social media management application, designed for businesses regardless of their size. It enables users to share posts for their audience, as well as schedule them for a time in the future. On top of that, with Buffer, not only can you publish posts, but you can also receive real-time analytics and engagement updates of your published posts.

How much does Buffer cost?

Buffer separates its costs into two groups – Publish and Analyze. For Publish, Buffer offers three subscription plans. These are the Pro plan ($15/month), the Premium plan ($65/month), and the Business plan ($99/month). For Analyze, Buffer offers two packages. These are the Pro plan ($35/month) and the Premium plan ($50/month). This platform also offers an annual subscription for all plans, which can help you save up to 20 percent.

Is Buffer a free software to use?

Unfortunately, Buffer is not a free software nor does it offer a free plan for its users. However, it does provide a free 14-day trial period. This can still provide vital information regarding the app’s specifications, which can serve as a basis if it is the best app for your business. Buffer also does not require you to input your credit card information for the free trial.

Is Buffer any good?

Buffer is one of the leading platforms in the industry. Although it works best for small businesses, mid-sized to large businesses will do just fine with this app. Plus, it also offers vital tools for customer support.

Does Buffer have a mobile version?

Yes! With Buffer, users have the convenience of accessing the system and receiving real-time updates about their social media accounts at any time and place. The mobile app of Buffer is available on both iOS and Android devices.

Which is better: Buffer or Hootsuite?

If you are looking for a much more affordable app, Buffer is the app for you. Aside from that, Buffer also lets you post a maximum of 10 posts per social media platform while Hootsuite limits it to just 30 in total. However, in terms of functionality, Hootsuite offers much more comprehensive tools.

Reviews

“ The best there is ”
4/5 (overall) - Luis M.
Pros:
  • Buffer lets you schedule posts across multiple social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
  • There is a free version but you can get more features the more you pay.
Cons:
  • You can’t seem to add subtitles to Facebook when scheduling, which is a problem.
  • You have to wait for it to post, go in and edit it on Facebook, and add subtitles.
“ Stay Ahead on Social Media Easily with Buffer ”
4.5/5 (overall) - Amber C.
Pros:
  • Buffer makes it easy to schedule out your social media posts ahead of time and you can also manage multiple different accounts from one place.
  • At our marketing company, it’s also easy for clients to understand and use on their own time whether they’re on their phone or computer.
Cons:
  • Using Instagram with any social media scheduling app can be a pain and Buffer is no exception to this rule.
  • Some IG posts have to be scheduled manually which defeats the purpose if you’re just using Buffer to control IG accounts.
“ One of the best social media management platforms with a high price for teams ”
3.5/5 (overall) - Darien C.
Pros:
  • It offers built in analytics, direct posting to Instagram & Instagram stories, team management features & more – assuming you are willing to pay for those features.
  • Overall, Buffer was probably my favorite social media management platform due to its simplicity & base features, yet it suffers in a few key areas.
Cons:
  • The added features like direct Instagram Story & first comment seem interesting for me, but not at the cost $663/annually.
  • Furthermore, while the platform itself is extremely simple to use, I found their pricing structure & different brand building products to be quite confusing.
