“ Smartsheet to the rescue for my project planning! ”
- Easy to use and costumize -more than one user can modify simultaneously -you can add your company’s logo -you can set group and individual reminders – Cell history, which can tell who and when it was modified. -different views: calendar, grid, card, and Gantt
- easy to set-up processes, ongoing product improvements and additions, great team capabilities, quick and easy adoption due to familiarity of tool to MS Project/Excel style, many different uses outside of projects timelines, very cost effective
- Not all reminders can be set with time to remind – can’t add a conditional formatting based on time – if your Smartsheet is big, formulas added can take forever to update the information, so you need to refresh it all times, even if you change settings to save automatically.
- interface feels dated (although they’re continuously working on this) and not created for non-project team members, dashboard tool and capabilities could use some improvements, sometimes creating cross-functional sheets can be clunky and unnecessarily complex.
“ Smartsheet has inbuilt machinery for managing every kind of data in tabulated profile pattern. ”
- Smartsheet has been instrumental in setting up our calibration records and management. With the ability to share the sheets and use them with a coworker in real time is awesome.
- It has been positive it’s a great software to use and I would recommend it to other businesses.
- We miss timepoints due to this feature and that can be frustrating.
- This alone would make us receptive to a different provider when we next review things – bad move smartsheet.
“ Versatile and Powerful Tool ”
- It makes pulling data from multiple sources super easy and I love that I can share sheet with users to view who are not on the platform themselves.
- Overall Smartsheet has been great for helping our teams get organized and share projects. It’s a great alternative to Excel spreadsheets, with lots of additional features and sharing capabilities.
- I then took the Smartsheet training to be certified and that opened my eyes to the power of the tool (and also to the fact that the sheets I hated were users in our company using it very, very WRONG).
- But expensive for what you get, and while a few users can have view/edit rights, i wanted to have all the team have view rights and that seemed to be charged for.

Q & A
Well, Smartsheet is known for its robust project management capabilities. The platform provides a spreadsheet-like UI that helps users navigate through the platform easily. On top of that, scheduling, organizing, and managing various projects are made more simple with the help of Smartsheet. With the app, users can use the familiarity of the UI to accelerate their work processes.
All in all, Smartsheet offers two (2) Standard plans and two (2) Enterprise plans. The Standard plans are: Individual ($14 per month) and Business ($25/user per month). However, for the two Enterprise plans, customers would need to contact Smartsheet’s sales team to know the prices.
Yes, and unlike some of its competitors, Smartsheet offers users a one (1) month trial period for new users which is far longer from the user 14-day trial that some project management apps offer. With the free trial, users can learn how to properly use the software to their advantage and how it could benefit them moving forward.
Unfortunately, Smartsheet does not provide a free forever type of platform. Although it does offer a lengthy 30-day trial period so that users can get to know the platform better without spending a dollar.
