“ Jira is incomplete without confluence! ”

10/10 (overall) - Jinan S.
  • Good tool for Documentation and writing PRDs,tech documentations etc. Has rich editing options to ease documentation.
  • I like the simplicity of the product. You can view the change history and who made the change. It looks visually good.
  • Has limited flexibility to add charts. Need to add paid add-ons for rich charts. Also there is some learning curve involved for traditional text editor users.
  • I find it hard to find some pages. Because it has a page hierarchy on a list, it can take some time to find what you are looking for. There is a search option that mitigates the problem. We also have some table features missing like freeze top row.

“ The Collaboration Platform You've Waited For ”

9/10 (overall) - Steve M.
  • It is very useful for information sharing through a company. Especially, it is very important for big companies since it helps to move information to generations and teams.
  • If you are doing large projects where you will need to write good documentation and link it all together, I think that this is a good option for you. It’s all centralized into one place.
  • Many users will struggle with permissions concepts and ignore notifications unless you provide a guiding framework/tagging conventions for them so people know when a notification is urgent.
  • On that location I use to miss it and sometimes I just closed the page without saving because I forgot the button was there; but that is just my problem remembering things.

“ Great for sharing and storing documents and thoughts ”

8.5/10 (overall) - Saurabh G.
  • I love Confluence, it’s a fantastic HQ for teams, for planning projects, and keeping track of all the best practices and documentation across an org.
  • We really liked the ability to create impactful documentation that is easy to digest and complete in nature. We also really like the ability to tie into JIRA and the issues that are there.
  • In past versions there were some problems with the plugin system, causing the software to collapse.
  • No documents are floating around and no change of getting them lost. But, if someone really needs a document in a file then confluence page can be exported as a document too.
