“ A powerful tool for writing and editing documents and saving in a non-proprietary data format ”

8/10 (overall) - Ray A.
  • Is well designed and has an excellent user interface.
  • Has powerful Track Changes features so multiple editors can comment on a single document.
  • Sometimes it cannot open certain WORD documents.
  • I have had situations where I receive a document in WORD docx format, edit in LibreOffice, but then the client notes that the original WORD formatting has been corrupted.

“ Excellent for small businesses! ”

8/10 (overall) - Ron M.
  • The software mimics Microsoft Office quite a bit, so the learning curve is very small. Being that the software is free and open source.
  • It’s an excellent ethical addition to the workplace especially during a time where pirated software can be frequently found in the small business world.
  • Most use cases are fine and not worth worrying, but if you do a lot of work with importing and exporting data and need a consistent way to edit/parse it, LibreOffice may not be your best initial choice for the workplace.
  • LibreOffice can also be slow depending on your computer; a lot of the stuff that is trivially quick to do in a program such as Excel can be a little bit of a crunch with LibreOffice’s equivalent.

“ A spreadsheet software that interprets data from different software ”

9/10 (overall) - Eduardo C.
  • LibreOffice is easy to use and allows me to make any calculation easily.
  • This software is essential to manage sales or purchases in my organization, since I can keep all the data sorted. On the other hand, it is free software, so you save a lot of money that costs a license of a spreadsheet software.
  • I cannot criticize software that gives me totally free features and that are fundamental to my daily work.
  • There is nothing I dislike about LibreOffice, for the purpose for which it is intended. Perhaps the fact that standard Microsoft files, such as doc / docx and xls / xlsx, do not always open correctly, as it is relatively common in more elaborate files, that LibreOffice makes a mess.
